Is my receipt data uploaded anywhere?

No. Every calculation, barcode and QR code is generated inside your browser. There is no server, no account and no upload. A shared link stores the document in the part of the URL after the # symbol, which browsers never send to a server.

Does it handle VAT correctly?

It supports tax inclusive prices, tax added on top, and no tax, with a different rate per line if needed. Every line is rounded to the currency precision first and the tax summary is aggregated from those rounded lines, so the printed columns always add up to the printed total.

Which thermal printer works with this?

Any ESC/POS thermal printer with a matching roll width. A 58 mm head prints 32 characters per line at 384 dots across, an 80 mm head prints 48 characters at 576 dots. Both widths are built in, so you can print straight from the browser or take the plain text export into an ESC/POS driver.

How much does it cost?

A receipt generator that works for everyone

Receipt Maker builds receipts, invoices, proforma invoices, quotations, order confirmations and credit notes in your browser. Pick a thermal roll, an A4 page or a boutique card, fill in the lines, and print, save as PDF, download a PNG, or send someone a link. There is no account to create and nothing is uploaded: every total, barcode and QR code is generated on your own device, which is why it still works with the wifi switched off.

It exists because the free tools out there either stamp a watermark across the result, ask for an email address before they show you anything, or quietly get the VAT rounding wrong so the printed column does not match the printed total. This one is free with no catch, and the calculation rules are documented and covered by a test suite you can run yourself.

Questions

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. There is no server. A shared link stores the document after the # in the URL, which browsers never send to a server, so even sharing keeps the data between you and whoever you send the link to.

Can I print to a real thermal printer?

Yes. The thermal templates set the page size to the paper width so a 58 mm or 80 mm roll prints at the right scale, and the text export gives you true 32 or 48 column output.

Does the VAT maths hold up?

Every line is rounded to the currency precision first, then the tax summary is built from those rounded lines. That is what makes the printed column match the printed total. The rules are documented and covered by an automated test suite.

Which thermal printer should I buy?

Any ESC/POS printer with the right roll width will work. The printer guide lists what to look for and which models are safe buys.

What does it cost?

Who built this

I am Oliver Žaigla. I build software like this for a living.

Everything on this page is written from scratch and runs with no dependencies: the QR encoder, the Reed-Solomon error correction behind it, the Code 128 and EAN-13 encoders, the VAT engine that reconciles to the cent, and the 196 test assertions that prove it. No framework, no build step, no backend.
